JOHN TODD PARTRIDGE
Todd is a native Texan who was born in College Station in
1967 where his parents were a college professor and a creative
homemaker and florist. His formative years were in the river-walk
city of San Antonio, Texas, but he returned to College Station to earn
a degree in International Marketing from Texas A&M University. Having
called Houston home since 1993, he and his life partner own and
operate an award-winning real estate company and an award-winning bed
and breakfast in the Montrose & Museum district.
Todd’s
creative spirit began at an early age with elaborate 3-dimensional
projects in Legos and
Lincoln
Logs. This eventually turned into intricate scale models in balsa wood
of mansions that any aspiring architect would be proud to claim as
their own. While still in high school he traveled to Japan as an
exchange student for a year where he lived with 3 host families in the
Osaka region. Not only did he become fluent in the Japanese
language, but he also mastered two of their calligraphy alphabets and
was known by his instructors to write the third alphabet, Kanji,
an art form in and of itself, more exquisitely than some of the
Japanese themselves.
Todd continued
expressing himself 3-dimensionally while in college by creating
spectacular one-of-a-kind aquariums that were exhibited in local
restaurants and stores. After graduation his
aquariums were sold and displayed in high-rise office buildings and
bank lobbies.
In his professional
career in real estate he has helped numerous developers and homeowners
design high-end residential projects, from the floor plan to the
furnishings. During his career as a real estate broker and innkeeper,
Todd began to express himself 2-dimensionally, through painting. He
is flourishing as he expands his unique talent by experimenting with
materials and textures on his own as well as mentoring with and
learning from other recognized artists.
